May Devotions

Many Anglican and Catholic churches in Britain as well as the rest of the world hold special devotions in honour of the Mother of God during the month of May.

I still have not been able to get a Mary Garden planted, but I thought it would be nice to do a series on the traditional flowers associated with Our Lady in May.

This is for the first of May:

It is of course the Lily, often associated with the Mother of God and regarded as a symbol of purity. The first of May is for Catholics, the Feast of St Joseph, "the spouse most chaste", who is also often associated with lilies for the same reason.
